What do the church at Manor Mission believe about Jesus?
GOD
Created the world and made man and women so that He could be their friend and enjoy all the wonderful things in the world with them. The only condition was that they kept to His rules to keep everything in the world wonderful. He had to give people free will, a choice, as you can not force people to love you.
MAN
Broke God's rules and spoiled everything.
Doing something wrong God calls SIN.
SIN
Spoiled the world as it made horrible things like hate, greed, cruelty, lying, selfishness, unkindness and anger.
GOD
Hates sin and finds it hard to be friends with people who sin - in fact He has to punish the sin before He can really become a true friend.
HOWEVER
GOD
Loved man so much that He became a man in JESUS (that's what Christmas is all about) and lived a life without doing anything wrong, He did NOT sin. He told people about God and His love for them and also showed that love by helping people like you and me.
MAN
Did not like Jesus living such a perfect life and telling people about God's love and plan for them so they KILLED JESUS by nailing Him to a CROSS. This happened on "GOOD FRIDAY".
JESUS
Showed His love for us by allowing MAN to kill Him. As He was God he could have stopped them but chose instead to die, so that He could take the punishment for EVERYONE'S sin.
JESUS
Having died and paid the punishment for SIN He then ROSE from the DEAD on EASTER DAY and appeared to His followers, who wrote down these things in what is now known as the BIBLE.
The BIBLE
Tells us that if we ACCEPT that JESUS died for us, ASK God to forgive us for all the SIN in our lives and ask JESUS into our lives as our Lord (boss) and friend, He WILL FORGIVE US and give us a NEW LIFE with purpose.
THIS IS TRUE FOR EVERYONE.
